Mizuwari

/

  • Shochu mixed with cold water either sparkling or natural, with or without ice.

Oyu-wari

/

  • Shochu at room temperature mixed with hot water at around 70°C (158°F). Therefore, the beverage will have a temperature ranging from 35° to 40°C (95°F-104°F).

Soda and soft drinks

/

  • Honkaku Shochu is excellent in almost any soft drink one can find on the market. The resulting mix is a moderate alcohol beverage, with a reduced sugar content and a new surprising taste. Dilution can be both Roku Yon or Go Go, depending on the desired result.

Roku Yon

/

  • which in Japanese means six four; hence, you will mix directly in the glass six parts of Shochu with four of water. If you use a 25% alcohol Shochu, the resulting beverage will be at 15% alcohol.

Yuzu

/

  • in this case, Honkaku Shochu is mixed in one of the methods seen above, while some yuzu is squeezed directly in the glass and/or added in slices. Yuzu is a particularly acid and fragrant Japanese lemon, that can be emulated by lime, bergamot or any high quality lemon.

Go Go

Yuzu

  • in this case, Honkaku Shochu is mixed in one of the methods seen above, while some yuzu is squeezed directly in the glass and/or added in slices. Yuzu is a particularly acid and fragrant Japanese lemon, that can be emulated by lime, bergamot or any high quality lemon.

Altri Stili

Sorbet

/

  • this is a particularly suitable solution for barley Shochu, which is excellent mixed with lemon sorbet and citrus in general. The result is surprising, because the acid taste of these type of fruits matches almost naturally the sweetness of cereals, creating a new very pleasant harmony.

Prosecco and spritz

/

  • Honkaku Shochu can be used in many different cocktails based on sparkling wines, with or without more ingredients, like juices from citruses or other fruits. The result are long drinks that may have the same use as spritz: low alcohol aperitifs.

Fruit juice

/

  • precisely like sorbet, Honkaku Shochu can be mixed with almost any fruit juice. From these mixes, that can be Roku Yon, Go Go or other proportions, derive drinks that balance the acidity and freshness of fruit with the sweetness, roundness and alcoholic structure of Shochu from cereals.
